We don’t know the exact year that Mom created Garry The Gargoyle, but I remember well the moment my siblings and I discovered her partial manuscript. I recall opening the coffee-stained yellow file folder and the emotions of surprise and intrigue felt upon finding this treasure. The fun, creativity, and thought that went into this tale. Lines written and lines crossed out. Her words scratched in pencil and in different colored pens indicating that she had worked on this story over time. I remember my inability to stop laughing at Garry’s antics, and I knew then that someday, somehow, Garry had to come to life. What I didn’t anticipate is that it would take twelve years for that to happen. And what inspired me to finally revisit my Mom’s manuscript and write Garry’s Upside-Down Adventure is a story for another day. But, I do wish to share some of her original notes posted here. Pip, pip for now!
